Daily Spark: Actions Speak Louder Than Words
“Actions speak louder than words; let you words teach and your actions speak.” - Anthony of Padua
In an age of digital transformation and social media, talk and words appear to be the new normal. Have a problem or obstacle? Talk about it, post about it, or comment on other posts about it. Maybe even avoid it and instead talk about it. In the recent Elevate plan, we talked about how important taking action was in the face of obstacles. In this case, we reiterate that actions speak louder than words.
Actions speak louder than words? Yes, we have talked about how being proactive and taking action is key to actually working through and overcoming obstacles. It is becoming more easy seemingly daily to talk and avoid. A digital world seems to make it easier for us to escape and choose to talk and avoid rather than take action.
Reflect on your current problems and situation whether it's in life or work. Are you talking more than acting? Is the digital world providing an easier path for you to escape on? This current craziness presented to us by the coronavirus is a great example. It provides all the opportunity to complain, talk about things that are unfair, vent out on social media, and look for escape routes and comfort. I know because it has been tempting and I have done it myself. You might be lying if you said you haven't either. The important thing is recognizing it and then adjusting. It's a weird time for everyone.
That's one example but work and life presents many others. Remember that actions speak louder than words and realize why taking action creates success in the end. We want you to be on the success side.
