Daily Spark - Do You Believe?

April 21, 2020

believe in yourselfYour belief matters for your progress and success, maybe more than you think. In the book of John, after the resurrection, we hear the story about Thomas, one of the disciples, who was not with the rest of the group the first time they saw Jesus. When they told him about it, he said unless he saw Jesus himself, see his hands with the nail marks, he would not believe it (John 20:25). Jesus later came back to the disciples again and this time Thomas was there and saw him. At that point, his disbelief quickly changed.

We hope that you are blessed as a believer in your faith and God. Your faith aside though, do you believe in what you are doing in your work and in your life? Having your own belief is important to keep yourself going and motivated, but it is so crucial to convince others. In fact, you would probably be hard pressed to get anyone else buying in to something you don’t believe in yourself.

Think about change or trying to lead continuous improvement for example. If you don't believe in what you are teaching or coaching on, you will have little chance in getting others too. Belief is what drives passion and that passion builds conviction, which then help convince others. If you don't believe, no one else will.

Belief can pull you through tough times as well. If you believe in what you are doing, then tough times can be endured because you know it is right. Without belief, you can be a leaf in the wind.

Think about your belief in what you are doing now or what you will undertake in the future. Think about your belief in yourself. It can make a world of difference.
