practise mindfulnessMindfulness is all about being present in your current surroundings, fully aware of what is happening around you. It is also the ability to stay calm in the moment and not react or get stressed by what is happening around you. It is an innate human ability yet fleeting in many ways. We all get caught up in losing track of our current thoughts, day dreaming, or being distracted. We get caught up in our thoughts due to this and this can lead to negative thinking.

Sound a little fluffy? Maybe but consider that today mindfulness is being linked to emotional intelligence with a direct correlation with self-awareness. We further know that emotional intelligence is a core “soft skill set” that is essential in many careers to perform as well as move upward.
